The leadership of Lucus is supported by the diligent efforts of an accomplished team of professionals from diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds. Members of our team have gained valuable experience at some of the most successful and prestigious investing and investing-related organizations, such as Goldman Sachs, Skadden, Third Point, Citadel, Millennium, and Blackstone. Our team has also been educated at some of the world’s top academic institutions, including Harvard, Morehouse, Princeton, and the University of Chicago, in several cases earning top student prizes, valedictory (or equivalent) honors, and/or advanced degrees and professional certifications. The value we deliver for our investment partners is created by our people; therefore, recruiting, developing, and retaining our team is a top priority for us.

Schuster Tanger


Schuster most recently worked at Third Point, an $18 billion investment adviser based in New York City that employs an event driven, value oriented investment style, from November 2009 to May 2012.

While at Third Point, he focused primarily on special situation public equity opportunities across the United States and Europe. Previously, he worked in the Special Situations Group at Goldman Sachs where he focused on investing in small- and mid-cap US credit opportunities, both distressed and non-distressed, public and private (from July 2008 to October 2009).

He is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering magna cum laude and Certificates in Applied and Computational Mathematics, Finance, and Engineering Management Systems; he was awarded the prize for top senior thesis.

Joshua Packwood


Joshua most recently worked in the Global Equities Division in the New York offices of Citadel, a $22 billion multi-strategy investment management firm, from June 2010 to May 2012. While at Citadel, he focused on investing in the financial and technology sectors in North and South America.

Previously, he worked in the Special Situations Group at Goldman Sachs where he focused on asset securitizations and distressed debt investing (from May 2008 to June 2010).

He is a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in Economics and was a Rhodes Scholar finalist and Valedictorian.
